Jin Huang

Assistant Dean / Director of Innovation Center, Chengdu NewSun Crop Science Co., LTD.

Dr. Jin Huang holds a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). With over a decade of experience in studying plant responses to abiotic stresses, she made a significant contribution to the discovery of the temperature sensor TWA1, published in Nature (2024).

Dr. Huang currently serves as Assistant to the Dean at the Biotechnology Research Institute and Director of the Innovation Center at Chengdu Newsun Crop Science Co., Ltd. Her research focuses on the mode of action of biological plant growth regulators (Bio-PGRs) and biostimulants, as well as the development of innovative bio-based agricultural products.

She leads a team that has established a high-throughput screening platform for the discovery of bioactive compounds and the development of next-generation agricultural biologicals. Several plant-derived products from her team—including pollen polysaccharides (PPS), Astragalus polysaccharides (APS), and L-theanine—have been successfully registered as biostimulants in the European Union.
